Hiromi Washi Print E-mail

Washi (和紙) refers to papers made using traditional Japanese methods.  Washi comes from wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper. These papers use extra long natural fibres (from raw materials such as mulberry and gampi trees, bamboo, wheat and rice).

The use of long fibres means that the papers can be much stronger and much lighter than Western papers.  Some of these papers have the appearance of feather-light tissue papers.

Hiromi, a Japanese paper company, has a small range of ultra-lightweight washi suitable for pigment printing.  We have samples of their full range in our printing studio and we accept special commissions to print onto these delicate papers.

Please allow several weeks for test printing of your work and supply of the paper size you require from our studio in Dublin, Ireland
